How does Rent a Toy work?

It’s easy – I offer top quality, safe and exciting toys for rent at great prices.  You can rent for a week, a month or longer if you wish.

Do you sterilize your toys?

All of my toys are first cleaned with an all natural, 100% biodegradable cleaner, followed by steam sterilization. We do however, request that toys are returned in a clean condition.

When can I collect my rented toy?

Toy hire collections and/or drop offs are available from Swanson on Monday, Weds, Friday and Saturday. Penrose Tuesday and Thursday.

All collections/returns are by appointment only

What can I do if the toy I wish to rent is showing as rented out?

Please email us, as the toy in question may be available for the time you require it. This is particularly true for our Birthday Packages.

What are your conditions regarding cancellation?

Cancellations must be made in writing at least 5 days prior to the hire start date or a 50% hire fee is payable.

What forms of payment do you accept?

You may pay for your rental by Direct Credit (internet banking) or Credit Card (via PayPal).

What is suitable ID?

We accept 2 of the following forms of identification:

Drivers License, Passport

Can I extend my rental period?

We will email you at least 1 week prior to your rental period ending, as a friendly reminder. If you want to keep the toy a bit longer, just let us know at this stage, but please note that this option may not always be available due to the item being booked by other customers.

Do you offer flexible rental periods?

We understand that things are never black and white and straight forward, so although our rental periods are listed as either weekly or monthly, you may wish to hire an item or items on a shorter or longer period. If this is the case, all you need to do is to email us and request the rental period you require. We will do my utmost to accommodate your request, and the only time this option may not be available is that if the item or items in question are either rented out or reserved for another customer.

What if my child doesn't like the toy I've rented?

No problem – you can return the toy to us within 2 days for weekly hires, and 5 days for monthly hires and you may select another toy of equal value or receive a credit towards future hires. Only 1 exchange per hire is permitted!

Do you have party plans?

We most certainly do. Please check out our Party Hire page for the different options on offer, however should you wish to customise your own party package, please let us know and we will be more than happy to help you out with advice on popular toys for particular age groups or party themes and will do our very best to make your child’s party a huge success.

Tip: The earlier you can get your booking into us, the better!

Do you help with toy setup?

No, as all Rent a Toy toys including our Bouncy Castles are very easy to assemble and most toys come with set up instructions.

Is there a charge for overdue items?

Overdue items will incure an overdue fee either charged out at a weekly or monthly rate depending on the original hire, plus $1.00 a day charge until the toy or toys are rented to Rent a Toy.

What happens if I have booked a Bouncy Castle and it rains?

As all Bouncy Castles are connected to a blower which uses electricity it is not possible to use the Bouncy Castle in wet weather plus our Bouncy Castles are not suitable for wet weather. If this can not be used in doors, you may cancel your booking on the day of pick up and no cancellation penalties will be charged.

What happens if my child breaks a toy?

A fee of $10.00 is payable for any damage caused to a particular toy or toys. However, if the damage is such that the toy is unable to be rented out again, the full retail value will be charged.

What happens if I return a toy with a missing piece or pieces?

A $25.00 fee will be charged for each missing piece requiring replacement.  However, in the event Rent A Toy is required to purchase a new toy to obtain the missing piece/pieces the full retail value will be charged.  All pieces will remain property of Rent A Toy.

Can I view your toy selection prior to renting?

All toys and descriptions are on our website.
